The Hillsborough County Health Department is a government organization that is part of the larger Florida Department of Health. The Hillsborough County Health Department has several locations through the county. The main health office is located at 1105 E. Kennedy Blvd. Tampa, Florida, 33602. The Hillsborough County Health Department is a great organization to work for; they provide ample opportunities for internships, for grad student these internships are through USF and for undergrad students contact Dr. Holt at doug_holt@doh.state.fl.us. These internships are designed for public health students like ourselves to become familiar with their techniques and to network with future employers.
Also, after doing my informational interview, I was informed that the Hillsborough County health department is a great employer to their employees. Employees receive paid holidays, weekends off, and sick pay. Along with the before motioned benefits, the health department provides their employees with healthcare coverage.
I was also informed that once you have been hired, there are many opportunities to move up in the department unlike many other companies that keep you at one position with no promotions or advancements.

I think this was a great choice for an employer. I also researched this employer and it was my second choice for employment. I like how you added the information about paid holidays and sick days because most people don't realize that this is very important. Some employers do not offer many days off and they definitely do not allow you to have paid days off or even sick days. I also found it interesting that they offer everyone health insurance. As we know health insurance is hard to come by in this country especially in this economy. I like that they care about their employees enough to understand that they should be taken care of first so that services can be offered at the highest potential.
